Article I – Name and Office
The organization shall be designated as the Academy of International Business, United States West Chapter; or abbreviated AIB-US West. The AIB-US West is a sub-national chapter of the

Academy of International Business (AIB). The offices of the AIB-US West shall be located at the address of the AIB-US West Chapter Chair or at such other place as may be designated by the AIB-US West Chapter Chair.

Article II – Mission and Objectives
The mission of the AIB-US West is to foster education, scholarship, and interaction, to develop and exchange ideas and views, and to advance professional standards, in all areas of international business, within the Western United States, in the framework of the worldwide AIB.

The objectives of the AIB-US West are:
(a) Facilitate the exchange of information and ideas among educators, and between business and academic fields;
(b) Encourage and assist research activities that advance knowledge of international business and increase available teaching materials;
(c) Cooperate as possible with business, non-profits, government, and academic organizations to further these basic objectives. However, to avoid compromising the intellectual integrity of its members, the AIB-US West shall not adopt a partisan position on any matter;
(d) Provide an annual conference and an ongoing website on international business; and
(e) Support the activities of the parent organization, the AIB, with a view to increasing membership in the Academy.

Article III – Membership
All members in-good-standing of the AIB who reside and/or work in one of the following US states: Alaska, Arizona, California, Colorado, Hawaii, Idaho, Iowa, Kansas, Minnesota, Montana, Nebraska, Nevada, New Mexico, North Dakota, Oregon, South Dakota, Utah, Washington, and Wyoming are members of the AIB-US West Chapter.

Members of the AIB who reside and/or work elsewhere will be admitted to membership in the AIB-US West Chapter if that is their preference.

Members of AIB-US West are subject to the Constitution and Bylaws of the parent organization, the AIB. There shall be no separate membership dues levied for Chapter membership in the AIB-US West.
All elected officers of the AIB-US West Chapter must be AIB members in-good-standing, whose primary chapter affiliation is the AIB-US West.

Honorary membership in the AIB-US West Chapter may be granted in special cases, as nominated by the AIB-US West Executive Committee. Honorary members will remain ordinary members of, and pay membership fees to, the worldwide AIB. Persons will be nominated for such honorary membership by the Chapter Executive Committee.

Article IV – Meetings
An Annual Meeting of the AIB-US West shall be held at such time and place as determined by the Chapter Executive Committee.

Article V – Government
The governance of the AIB-US West will be vested in a Chapter Chair, Conference Program Chair, Membership Director, Sponsorship Director, and Treasurer, all of whom shall compose the Executive Committee of the AIB-US West Chapter. In addition to these officers, the past Chairs, whose terms have expired, shall remain on the Executive Committee as ex-officio.

The AIB-US West’s eligible voting members shall elect the Chapter Chair, Treasurer, Conference Program Chair, Membership Director, and Sponsorship Director, by a majority of the votes cast. Student and institutional members are not eligible to hold positions on the Chapter Executive Committee.
